Nikki Smith
Nikki Smith – Neurological Clinical Lead

Nikki qualified as a Physiotherapist from The University of Southampton. She has extensive experience within neurology and rehabilitation, from the hospital setting to outpatient and community rehabilitation. Nikki has particular interest, skills and training in brain injury, spinal injury and multi trauma injuries, and is passionate about helping clients reach their full physical potential.

Nikki is a dynamic physiotherapist highly motivated to promote training and development and has attended many courses including: The Bobath Concept, Motor Relearning following neurological injury, neurological hydrotherapy, acupuncture, reflexology, splinting and numerous FES (functional electrical stimulation) courses and can offer FES assessment and treatment as recommended by The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence with the Odstock PACE and Bioness H200 and L300 devices.

As well as Neurological Clinical Lead for South Hams Physio, Nikki works as a Case Manager for StanleySmith Case Management Ltd., providing clinical support for those with complex neurological injuries.  She also works as an Expert Witness for Jacqueline Webb and Co, writing reports for the court.

Nikki has over 11 years’ experience of working within the litigation arena and compiling clinical physiotherapy reports for Case Managers, Solicitors and Insurance Companies.

Andy Rich - Musculoskeletal Clinical Lead

Andy qualified as a Physiotherapist from the University of Southampton with a First Class (Hons) degree. He has continued to build upon this success and specialise in the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions in particular treatment of the shoulder joint. He specialises in treating complex shoulder pathologies and is an Extended Scope Practitioner for shoulders at Plymouth Hospital NHS Trust; here he is trained in the use of injection therapy for painful shoulders.

Andy is an experienced acupuncturist and an accredited member of the AACP.

Sine Rickard – Associate

Sine qualified as a Physiotherapist from Glasgow Caledonian University. She has vast experience in neurology and rehabilitation with a particular interest and speciality in community rehabilitation and Parkinson’s disease. Sine has completed Saebo UK training allowing her to assess and treat neurological upper limb conditions with Saebo orthotics.

As well as working for South Hams Physio Sine works part time in the NHS as a Senior Physiotherapist within the Falls Team assessing and treating patients who have complex mobility and balance problems.

Will Hawling - Associate

Will qualified as a Physiotherapist from the University of Hertfordshire with a First Class (Hons) degree. He began his career at Peterborough District Hospital, before specialising in Musculoskeletal (MSK) outpatients at Hinchingbrooke Hospital in Cambridgeshire. Moving to Devon in 2012 with his young family, Will currently works in the MSK outpatient department at Derriford Hospital as a senior therapist. Will is a rugby enthusiast and while living in Cambridgeshire, he was the club physio at Huntingdon Rugby Club for two seasons. Since moving to the South West he has worked with the Devon Rugby U15 & U16 Teams.

With a keen interest in sports injuries and as an advocate of manual therapy to complement exercise prescription, Will has completed post graduate courses in whiplash injury, cervical headaches, sports massage, myofascial release and Orthopaedic Medicine. Will is also a trained acupuncturist.

Shardi Khosravi - Associate

Shardi qualified as a Physiotherapist from the University of the West of England. Her experience is varied, having previously worked at the National Spinal Injuries Centre and more recently in the area of complex neuro-disability. 

She has a broad area of interest within the field of neurology, particularly in the areas of Spinal Cord Injury, Multiple Sclerosis, Spinal Muscular Atrophy and other neurological conditions. She has undertaken a masters level module in Neurological Physiotherapy at the University of Plymouth.
